dotty diva

Yeah, I'm back in the UK, just for one month. :) The spring here is beautiful but cold and windy, at least it's sunny! :)  I had few days completely alone which I used to find new interesting and beautiful places in Medway and enjoying the sun and reading somewhere hidden from the wind. When it's not windy, it's nice and warm! but the wind is freeezzzzzing!  заеби
Here is a picture I took back in March for Dotty Diva and her jewelery line. There were two shots which I liked. you can see the other picture one post below.
wowowo too many words for only one picture... haha

Thanks for watching. I'll be grateful for any feedback. peace

from the test

This morning I had a shoot with my friend Marina. Everything was shot on film, but because I couldn't get a lightmeter, I had to make test shots with the dslr. That's the last one from 8 pictures. I'm looking forward to develop the films.

finally something new

I've had three shoots for the last three weeks, but probably I'll never upload some of the pictures from them... you know, great expectations always disappoint us. :(
However, I just shot that pic today and I hope you'll like it. The session today helped me to get out of the depression I was for the last few weeks. I hope that gives some better results.

Finally a picture with almost no Photoshop in it.
More to come soon.
don't save critics
Thanks :)

SNAPS

I had a task do some pictures in the style of the photographer Juergen Teller.... I've never done this before and I found it as a challenge. It was for my friend Kya, who had to do an ad campaign for a new brand for Mark Jacobs (Not the real one, just a University project). You can check out her blog here
From all the pictures I personally liked only one! And perhaps tomorrow I won't like it anymore, but I just want to show it, as it is something quite different from what I've always tried to do. :)

Please comment

My brother and his girl

During our trip to London last week I decided to make some portraits of them. I used the Mamyia RZ67 with HP5 400asa. I just love film photography and particularly the medium format! I'm planning to make portraits predominantly on film.

Tracing Memory-project for the University.

We’ve all traveled many kilometers to come to study in the United Kingdom. Some people have come from cities only half an hour away, but others has traveled thousands of kilometers and many hours.
They can’t go back home for the weekend, or if they have a day off. They’ve left all their friends, their families, their homes and favorite places far behind their back for one purpose-education and success!
The sacrifice is really big, and when you’re so far away from home, when you don’t know anybody, when the language is not your mother tongue, and when everything is so different from your home, you actually realize what loneliness means!
You need only a few weeks, to get used to the environment, to find new friends, to make your new home cozier and get back to your normal life.
But there is always something which reminds you of your home, which keeps you different, which makes you feel like you are back at home, and which gets things back to normal.
It might be an object, a flag, a cloth, a picture, a souvenir or even food. It’s your memory of home, of friends etc. I decided to take pictures of some foreign people, who are currently living in the United Kingdom. The main idea is to show something which they have brought from there homes, which is important for them and which is like a souvenir, which reminds them of their country.
I’ve chosen five different persons, from five different countries, with five different languages. All from Europe.

... your world is nothing more than all the tiny things you’ve left behind ...

Thank you for watching, I'd happy with any comments and feedback.

Film tryouts

I took these pictures just as a practice to shoot with the medium format camera, two months ago. I was wondering whether to use 6/6 or 6/7 and that's why I made two different sessions with two different cameras - Bronica SQ-B (6/6) and Mamyia RZ-67pro II (6/7). I've found the Bronica much better, as it is smaller, lighter, easier to operate with and I love the square format! All photos are taken with Ilford HP5 plus 400ASA and scanned on Flextight X1 then digitally edited.

Thank you for watching, I'd be very happy with any feedback and criticism!
